It technically works, but between a workaround for adding hashtags from Twitter and automatically adding tags from this tumblr here, the post from Tumblr lost its tags.
Adding the tags in the IFTTT recipe by hand first, and then have them processed into WordPress tags should work.
Aside from embedding the image from tumblr instead of having it copied locally, it works so far.
I am still trying to make the tags work, but I believe that getting that to work will consume 80% of the evening in order to add 20% of the functionality.
So, what is certainly one of the few times in memory, I honestly decided against further investing time beyond this point.

Figuring out how IFTTT deals with retweets like this is also a needed step.
Due to how laws work in Germany, we won’t be using other people’s content in this archival system.
