• Dear mutuals, if you see me posting with the tag #asca that is the trigger to archive my post on my automated social content archive I run on this subdomain: https://social.mariobreskic.de/

I currently archive choice posts there from here, my Instagram, my Tumblr, and my Twitter.
Itʼs sort of like me bookmarking my own posts, in public (plus the subdomain runs without third party code, so it runs really fast without a CDN).

You might want to check it out 😉

  • Played around with an idea using Chat, ended up with a couple of playlists (for a thing 🐀).
    Came across Kali Maloneʼs album
“The Sacrificial Code” and I am slowly getting into that. Same family of resonance I felt with Anna von Hausswolffʼs “All Thoughts Fly” during last autumnʼs heady travel through Austriaʼs mountain forests. #asca

  • “Blue” by Derek Jarman has been on my mind a lot lately.
Blue like becoming blind. Blue like the after images of the edges of cobblestones contrasting each other.
Blue like an idea this walk to the train station gave me, after having seen my ophthalmologist. #asca https://x.com/tomieinlove/status/1923584633998078298

  • “This book is not a recipe book. Nor is it a travel guide. Recipes diminish personal initiative; travel guides make things too comfortable. Few will choose the arduous path through unexplored terrain when an easier one lies conveniently nearby. But creative design is undoubtedly a tightrope walk. Missteps and even complete failures are always possible, sometimes even inevitable. Drawing strength from setbacks and venturing boldly into unfamiliar territory, these are metaphorical descriptions of how we begin to approach the complex process of artistic creation. Incompleteness, awkwardness, inaccessibility, wrong turns, and stumbling blocks are all part of the gradual search for direction; they are part of the design process itself.”

  • Updated my and s to the most recent version. I took the slow route and incrementally updated each release, because you know that this is the right way to do it.
And right now, I have 23 applets running on my , which I have learnt was called duct tape by someone. I think it fits quite well.
Looking forward to more tinkering in the future. Sending this over to my Social archive. Maybe a proper blog post is in order on my actual www site, yeah?

  • Well, what does it all *mean*?
What it all means is entirety up to your own mind, o reader mine.
Make sure it is indeed yours. Youʼll know by its stillness, by its calm. #asca

  • Today I hit the limit for applets run in my IFTTT account, so I upgraded it to the next tier, and this is basically how I’ve spent the late afternoon and the evening so far.

Managed to make Threads work again, and now it can be securely and persistently archived on my social wall (again).

I used to do this with rsshub earlier this year, but looking at how often it hit the Threads API coming from a server I personally rent, this did not seem smart at all. I knew that I would eventually have to upgrade my IFTTT account, so leaving Threads out of my ecosystem of backups was just temporary.

Additionally, I decided to have a little fun with my website, too:
now when I save a song to my Spotify pile, my website’s status category for music gets updated as well.

In theory, this should also work with my Goodreads pile (another pile, it seems) in much the same way, but this will be tested some other time. For right now, it is time for sleep. And tomorrow is a dream away.
